Still, charge your cameras fully first, but as soon as the NVR/monitor is turned on it's already paired with the two included cameras, so you're ready to deploy. We already had a four camera system from the same company that uses a hub instead of this NVR device, so we reset each of those cameras and just tapped this unit's screen where a blank extra camera place-holder appeared and it walked us through pairing the extra four cameras. Easy peasy. This system punches way above its weight class in many ways, but first there's the combo network video recorder/monitor. Open up one of the back covers and there are connectors for an SSD, although I as yet have not found any reference to just how large a drive it can support. The onboard storage provided is a 64GB micro SD card, but it can support up to a 256GB unit. The defaults for how the system might function with both a high capacity SSD and a 256GB micro SD card installed are yet to be revealed, but once I install one I'll try and update this review. I was able to install the monitor in a central location that is within about six feet of our router, but I ran an ethernet cable connection anyway. The communication between the cameras and the monitor, as well as through the app, is nearly instantaneous, so very impressive to say the least. We've had several of these cameras on our property now for over eight months, and these are identical to those. All have worked perfectly right out of the box, and while they can all apparently be powered by the included solar panels, I've mounted all but two now in locations where they can be kept plugged in for constant recording. When on solar power the cameras will automatically drop back from constant recording to triggered only if their state of charge falls below 80% in order to avoid not recording anything at all."
