I did not try the IR transmission abilities, but the included remote seems to work alright. After the unit was on for about 10 minutes or so of wireless bliss, the screen blanked out and then we saw the little connection icon with mode info pop onto the screen and the picture came back. Kinda like the receiver lost signal and regained it. However, the color was all messed up. Similar to lacking the blue color channel everything was red and yellow/green, however all the red was 100% saturated. Very odd. I checked through everything swapped cables, sources, etc.. didn't matter. Took the receiver to a different TV and got the same result. I then unplugged everything and let it sit. Tried it again a few hours later... Same exact results. Timed it to just a bit over 6 and half minutes before the flip-out and color change happened, this time the color was predominantly blue/yellow/grey, as if the red color channel was missing. ??? Seems to happen when the unit warms up. Not sure if the receiver or transmitter is at fault or what. Attempting to contact iogear for support is a lost cause. I have yet to receive a response to email and I was able to get someone on the phone. The person on the other end of the phone was totally clueless, knew nothing of the product, couldn't pass the call to anyone who could help me, etc.. Finally the call was juggled to another tech who wanted to run through the overly-generic tech support steps. You know, unplugging everything and plugging it all back in and all that. Trying both inputs, I'm not using the pass-thru, but I tried it anyway and it works, just not getting video properly transmitted wirelessly. I tried to humor him in hopes we could just get to an RMA process to swap out a defective unit. By this time now, the unit is no longer making funny colored video output, I'm getting no audio or video signal transmitted at all. I get the connection graphic from the receiver saying that it sees the transmitter, signal meter reads as full strength. It even reports the correct resolution being sent from my DirecTV unit or Blu-Ray or whatever."
